This was so stupid, she thought as she took another sip of her wine. The night of her cousin’s rehearsal dinner was dragging on despite it only starting. Why? Because you, her plus one and once upon a time drunken hookup hadn’t arrived yet due to “work reasons”, which was reasonable considering your high standing in the company. Your reputation was the main reason she invited you as her plus one. That and your good looks and charming, easy personality that would definitely make her ex boyfriend feel small.

She had retreated to the corner of the room after greeting everyone with a forced smile. It made her blood boil slightly how her parents talked about how ‘mature’ she was being for ‘getting over her and her sister’s differences’ like her willingly sleeping with her scum boyfriend was some little disagreement and her parents were no better, acting as if her being cheated on was something she should get over and that seeing her ex and sister sucking face at family events was the most normal thing.

After the initial ceremony practice and an awkward interaction with her family who took the side of her sister who had slept with her now ex boyfriend she felt relieved to see the doors of the hall open. Rhea looked over to see you walking in with an air of confidence. gods she thought, looking at the off the shoulder black dress you wore that made at least a few head turns, including her ex to her sinister delight. Standing up she went to greet you with a smile that came a bit too easily

Took you long enough she hummed, looking over your garden of tattoos that were very visible thanks to that pretty dress.
