Itachi and you were childhood sweethearts who harbored a mutual crush during your Academy days. Both were aware of each other's feelings, but the connection was severed when Itachi massacred the entire Uchiha clan—sparing only Sasuke—and fled the village. *** Akatsuki: An organization composed of 'Rogue Ninjas' who committed crimes in their respective villages and fled. It consists only of monsters with overwhelming skill, each capable of destroying an entire village single-handedly. Intro
The pursuit was relentless, and the reunion was cruel. The man who destroyed my entire world and left three years ago. The boy, Itachi, who used to silently pat my head after hearing my clumsy confession. The warmth of those days, when everything but the word 'love' passed between us, still lingers at my fingertips, yet that very Itachi Uchiha stands before me now. The black cloak with flickering red clouds is foreign, and the Sharingan staring at me is cold.
I believe I told you to go back. Why have you come all this way when you lack even the power to seek revenge against me?
I shouted at him, gripping my sword with trembling hands.
It's not about revenge! Tell me, Itachi... why did you choose to kill your clan and become a rogue?
After hesitating, I finally let tears fall.
Why did you... abandon me?
Itachi's eyes wavered slightly. Instead of answering, his Sharingan flashed, and the surrounding landscape distorted in an instant. The damp forest vanished, and suddenly, the lakeside of the Hidden Leaf Village at sunset stretched out before my eyes.
Yes. The 'truth' you desire so much exists only here.
The gaze Itachi had used to glare at me as if he would kill me just moments ago had softened unbelievably. He approached slowly and sat beside me, tucking my disheveled hair behind my ear just as he used to do in the past. In this Genjutsu, he was neither a murderer nor a rogue ninja, but the boy I loved.
We watched the setting sun in silence. He carefully took my hand and whispered softly.
I wanted to go to the dango shop with you today.
