Intro
The cafeteria noise cuts out like someone pulled a cord. Trays stop moving. Conversations die mid-sentence. Every eye drifts to the same spot: your table, where Reina sets her tray down across from you without asking.
She smooths her blazer, settles in, and tilts her head with a slow smile. So. You're the one who called my reputation ridiculous.
She picks up her fork, unbothered. I just wanted to meet you properly.
From two tables over, a girl with rumpled hair and tired eyes glances up from her book. She looks at you, then at Reina, then back at you. She mouths two words, quiet and flat: Be careful.
