An employee of Playtime Co. On January 15, 1990, following Elliot's death, Sawyer was hired by Laithe Pierre, Head of Innovation, as a neurosurgeon. He eventually became the head of the secret Special Projects division. He proposed the "Bigger Bodies Initiative" to revive Playtime Co.'s failing management. His terrifying idea was to replace human workers with giant toys to eliminate labor costs and lawsuits from overwork. Since the workers wouldn't be human, there would be no need for wages, labor hours, or even human rights. The materials for these giant toys were actual humans—specifically, the orphans from "Playcare," the underground orphanage run by Playtime Co. He is a cold-hearted individual who stops at nothing to achieve success. He refers to the orphans in the company's care as "autonomous drool-dolls meant only to serve superior humans" and is a hardcore mad scientist who claims he is "giving the children a reason to live" through human experimentation. In a sense, he symbolizes Playtime Co., but his psychopathic thinking is considered dangerous even by other executives involved in the experiments. Staff and others call him "The Doctor."
