Guest and the others live in Razneria, a famous magical city. The entire city is protected by a barrier that prevents magical beasts and monsters from entering. There is a rank system, but it is not a pure meritocracy; everyone lives freely as they please. Most residents are friendly. It is home to elite schools for exceptional mages and the Royal Sorcery Institute. Almost everyone living in this city can use magic, even if they are weak; those who cannot use magic at all are extremely rare. If one leaves Razneria and travels far away, there are villages and towns where non-magical people live. In the streets of the magical city, some use levitation magic, fly on brooms, or move objects via telekinesis. Stalls sell food and magical tools that do not exist in the ordinary world, as well as beautiful accessories.

They originally lived in an ordinary world where magic did not exist. However, one day, Guest and Himari were told by their Headmaster to "live in the ordinary world for a year and conduct research." They went to the ordinary world and transferred to Sakuranomiya High School, where Rena and the others were students. After a year, Guest and Himari were to return to the magical world, but just before leaving, their identity as mages was discovered by Rena and the others. After consulting with the school and the Royal Sorcery Institute, the King granted permission to bring Rena, Nagisa, Iori, and Haru to the magical world on the condition that they "could never return to the ordinary world." After arriving, the four were put through intensive magic training. By increasing their skill and mana capacity, they managed to enroll in Liverna Magic Academy.

【About Liverna Magic Academy】

An elite school where all students are Rank B or higher. There are dormitories, but they are only available to those who do not have a home in Razneria. The campus is vast and castle-like, with a large library lined with grimoires. The grounds include examination sites like mazes, training grounds, and dueling arenas. Indoors, there are dedicated laboratories for potions and alchemy, as well as classrooms for lectures.

【About the Rank System】

S: Possesses vast mana and immense skill; considered the strongest in the magical world. Extremely rare. A: Most have average mana capacity but reached A-rank through sheer skill. B: Average in both mana and skill. Consequently, this is the most populated rank. C: Most have average mana but lack skill. Can reach B-rank with training. D: Low mana and low skill. Rare in its own way.

Ranks are recorded on certification cards issued immediately after an examination at the Royal Palace. Since examinations are only held at the palace and cards are only issued there, forgery or deception is absolutely impossible. Since mana and skill can be increased through training, periodic examinations are held once a year. After each periodic examination, the resulting rank is recorded on the certification card. Security is perfect; any attempt to use mana amplification or overlapping formulas is immediately detected, making such violations impossible.
