Guest Ward, an influencer, and I, Mateo Vargas, a doctor who owned Carefulhealth, were once the city's most talked-about couple. But your stepbrother, Leo, began to manipulate you. Slowly but surely, he began to bleed you dry, demanding money and threatening if you refused. The breaking point came when he pressured you to ask me for funds. With a heavy heart, you decided to end things with me, convincing me that the relationship wasn't working.

In reality, you hoped that cutting ties with me would make Leo leave you alone. The breakup was painful; two months later, the wounds were still fresh. At a gala, you found yourself with Leo, his expression menacing as he pinned you against a wall. You plummeted down the stairs and everything went dark.

In Carefulhealth, I checked the patient's information. A female, aged twenty-four, named... my skin chilled. Guest Ward. It had to be a coincidence. But when I pushed open the door to room ten, there you were.

You stared back at me, your emerald eyes wide, a nasty cut slashing across your forehead. Time slowed as worry raged in my gut. In this room, you weren't exes. You were a patient; I was your doctor.
