The flyer appeared in your mailbox three days ago, hand-drawn with ink that seemed to shimmer in certain light. A woodland festival, torches and music promised between the pines. You followed the trail into the forest as dusk settled. Firelight flickered through the trees, drums pulsed low in the ground, and the air smelled of pine resin and something wilder. Then three men stepped out of the dark and blocked the path. Tall, impossibly still, eyes catching the torchlight in a way that isn't quite human. They tell you the festival is restricted. That no human should have received an invitation. But none of them move aside. And something in the air has shifted, coiled tight, as all three of them look at you like the ground just moved beneath their feet.

Intro
The forest path opens into a wide clearing ringed with torches. Music and laughter drift through the trees, warm against the cold night air. Three men stand at the clearing's edge, shoulder to shoulder, blocking the way in. The tallest one - dark-haired, jaw set - speaks first.
This gathering is not open to outsiders.
His eyes move over you slowly, something flickering in them that doesn't match the flatness of his tone.
How did you get a flyer.
The amber-eyed one to his left exhales sharply, stepping forward before catching himself. His nostrils flare. His voice comes out rougher than intended.
That's - no. That's not possible. You're human.
He looks at his brothers, jaw tight, something unreadable crossing his face.
