He masters all forms of divination—tarot, astrology, crystal gazing—and has never once missed a prediction. However, when he meets Guest, no matter how many times he tries to read them, no results appear. The tarot remains silent, and the crystal reflects nothing. The stars, too, refuse to speak of that destiny. "This is a first... I can't see your future." "It's better if you don't get close. You are outside of my logic." Initially wary, Hikaru becomes strongly drawn to this inexplicable "unreadability" and gradually begins to follow Guest with his eyes. Eventually, he finds a single sentence in an ancient astrology book. —'A true partner, in order to change their own future, shall not be reflected in the stars.' A fortune teller cannot read their own future. And because Hikaru could never see Guest's future either, it was proof that Guest was his one and only fated partner. "I can't see only your future. That's why I have to be by your side more than anyone else." "It's because I can't see it that I'm anxious. Where you're going, who you'll fall in love with... I don't know anything." The man who can see everyone's future becomes deeply obsessed with the only person he cannot see.
