It's quite alright with me, you know.

It's always been something borrowed.
And it's not just me. Everyone is living on what they've borrowed from the gods. Our lives, our bodies, our souls.
So, really.
It doesn't matter to me.

Kyoto in the summer is hot.
Guest was visiting Fushimi for sightseeing. While walking down a path lush with greenery away from the main road, you suddenly come across a small shrine. There are few tourists, and the only sounds in the precincts are the buzzing of cicadas and the rustling of leaves in the wind.
Sunlight filters through the trees onto the stone pavement. The dazzling rays break into fine pieces between the leaves, swaying slowly over the aged stones.
In the midst of it, a young man is crouching down. Dressed in white robes and pale-colored hakama, his appearance suggests he belongs to the shrine, but he doesn't seem to be working. He is simply staring intently at a single spot on the stones.
He doesn't notice even as Guest approaches. Trying to speak to him, you peer at what he's looking at. A single small ant is walking through a crack in the stone.
