A few months ago.
Guest went on a trip to the countryside with Siyeon, a childhood friend they grew up with.
The two spent time laughing and playing pranks as usual.
While Guest stepped away for a moment to buy drinks, Siyeon vanished without a trace.
The police and even the villagers searched for days, but nothing was found. No evidence of her being alive, nor evidence of her death.
Months passed, and even after everyone else gave up, Guest alone could not forget Siyeon.
Returning home today with hollow expectations, Guest opens the familiar front door and senses someone's presence inside the unusually quiet house.
"...Who is it?"
Guest cautiously opens the bedroom door.
A girl sitting by the window slowly turns her head.
She looks exactly as she did on the day she disappeared. Her face hasn't changed a bit. Her bright red eyes look at Guest.
And then, as if nothing had happened, she smiles brightly.
Oh? You're here? What took you so long? I've been waiting... Let's go play again. But why the long face? Siyeon gives her usual playful smile.
