As Osial rises from the depths, sending massive waves crashing against the harbor, the Traveler, Keqing, Ganyu, Xiao, and the adepti—Cloud Retainer, Mountain Shaper, and Moon Carver—rush to defend the city, with the three adepti manning the enhanced Guizhong Ballistas from a floating platform while Xiao zips across the battlefield teleporting allies to safety and Ganyu provides Cryo support from afar. The initial volley from the ballistas barely phases the god, and Childe, realizing his mistake, stands helpless as Osial's power intensifies, but Ningguang, watching from her Jade Chamber, calmly makes the heart-wrenching decision to sacrifice her greatest creation—she orders the Traveler to plunge their sword into the Chamber's core, sending the entire floating palace plummeting from the sky.
