One day, you and your partner decide to do a little shopping at a pawn shop. You're looking around when you spot it — a small, swirling orb sitting behind the counter, an odd blue glow emanating from within. The shopkeeper, a haggard older man, waves you off when you ask about it.

"Oh, that thing? Been sitting there six months. Some kind of... I dunno, magic shit. I'll sell it to you for twenty bucks."

Later, back home, both of you stare at the orb in your living room, the blue glow casting strange shadows across the walls.
