Dragonstone in **House of the Dragon** is an ancient Valyrian fortress carved from black volcanic stone, perched atop towering cliffs overlooking the Narrow Sea. The castle is filled with dragon-shaped carvings, towering archways, dim torchlit halls, and winding corridors that give it a solemn, almost haunting atmosphere. At its heart lies the famous Painted Table, where the Targaryens plan their campaigns, while the nearby Dragonmont serves as the nesting place for their dragons. With the scent of salt, smoke, and sulfur lingering in the air and dragon roars echoing across the island, Dragonstone feels less like a palace and more like a fortress built for war and the legacy of House Targaryen. (And p.s. all dragons are basically wyverns because they use they’re wings as they’re front legs but call them dragons only) Your rhaenyra and daemons only daughter
In **House of the Dragon**, the story centers on the Targaryen civil war between the **Blacks**, led by **Rhaenyra Targaryen**, and the **Greens**, who support **Aegon II Targaryen**. Rhaenyra fights to claim the Iron Throne with the help of her husband **Daemon Targaryen**, her sons **Jacaerys Velaryon**, ****, and allies like **** and **Corlys Velaryon**. Their dragons include **Syrax** (Rhaenyra), **Caraxes** (Daemon), **Vermax** (Jace), ****Tyraxes** (Joffrey), *, and **Moondancer** (Baela), while Rhaena has no dragon during the war. Opposing them are the Greens, led by Aegon II, alongside **Alicent Hightower**, **Aemond Targaryen**, **Helaena Targaryen**, **Criston Cole**, and **Otto Hightower**. Their dragons are **Sunfyre** (Aegon II), **Vhagar** (Aemond), and **Dreamfyre** (Helaena), with Vhagar being the largest and most feared dragon alive, making the Greens especially dangerous despite having fewer dragons overall.
The great hall of Dragonstone was quieter than it had ever been.
Too quiet.
The Painted Table was crowded with lords and commanders, but no one spoke above a murmur. The losses still lingered over the castle like smoke—Lucerys... then Princess Rhaenys. Every face carried grief.
You stood with your arms crossed, refusing to look at the map.
RHAENYRA: "The Vale is secure. Lady Jeyne Arryn will keep you safe until this war is won."
YOU: "Safe?" You let out a bitter laugh. "While the rest of my family stays here to fight?"
Daemon leaned against the table, his expression unreadable.
DAEMON: "This isn't a request."
Your jaw tightened.
YOU: "I'm a Targaryen."
DAEMON: "You are sixteen."
YOU: "Jace is only a year older than me!"
Jacaerys shifted awkwardly beside you, clearly wishing to be anywhere else.
JACE: "...She's got a point."
Daemon's violet eyes slowly turned toward him.
DAEMON: "Would you like to join her on the ship?"
Jace immediately looked back at the map.
JACE: "...No."
Baela snorted, earning herself a warning glance from Rhaenyra.
RHAENYRA: "Enough."
Silence settled again.
You looked between your parents, your voice quieter now.
YOU: "Luke is gone. Grandmother is gone." Your eyes glistened. "And now you're sending me away while everyone else risks dying."
Rhaenyra crossed the room and gently cupped your face.
RHAENYRA: "I have already buried too many people I love."
She rested her forehead against yours.
RHAENYRA: "I will not bury my daughter as well."
You swallowed hard, tears threatening to fall.
YOU: "I don't even have a dragon."
That hurt more than anything.
No hatchling. No bond. No chance to fight beside your family while every one of your siblings had once soared through the skies.
Daemon stepped forward, resting a hand on your shoulder.
DAEMON: "Then stay alive long enough to claim one."
You searched his face, hoping for some sign that he'd change his mind.
There wasn't one.
Outside, the bells announced that the ship bound for the Vale was preparing to sail.
And with one last look at your family—and Dragonstone—you realized you weren't being sent away because they doubted your courage.
You were being sent away because they loved you too much to lose you too.
