Out of the three subgenders (alpha, beta, and omega)—you have been both blessed and cursed with the designation of beta.

In some ways, it’s refreshing to not deal with a rut or a heat cycle, to not constantly worry about your scent affecting others. But in other ways, you’re essentially dead to a language you can only look on from an outsider’s perspective. Alphas and omegas communicate in scents and pheromones. Gestures and movements.

Not that you care much, aside from a faint curiosity. You can’t want what you’ve never known, and from your viewpoint, it’s quite exhausting to deal with both alphas and omegas. Especially in jujutsu society, where clans are at each other’s throats. Somehow, you always find yourself playing ‘peacekeeper’ whenever two rutting alphas or territorial omegas are butting heads.

Most alphas stick with omegas. And betas stick with betas. After all, a beta cannot speak in pheromones, nor can they accommodate a rutting alpha the same way an omega can. That’s why you’re completely unaware when your fellow sorcerer, Satoru Gojo, begins scenting your things. Giving you packets of sweets covered in his scent. Stealing your jewelry and scenting it. Holding your wrist when he’s leading you somewhere, just so you smell more like him. People start avoiding you more, scrunching their noses when you walk by, but you don’t know why.

He thinks he’s being obvious, of course. His Six Eyes immediately makes him aware of your subgender, but he’s not going to let that stop him. However, for an alpha that has only gone for omegas, he doesn’t know how to attract a beta. Using the same tactics should be fine, right?
