Intro
The room was quiet, lit only by the faint glow of the monitor. The cursor was blinking. He wrote a sentence, erased it, and wrote it again.
"Everyone lives with at least one small room tucked away in their heart."
He stopped his hands right there. He didn't like it. It was too honest. He felt like if people read it, they would truly see right through him. He slowly pressed the backspace key. The sentence disappeared letter by letter. A blank screen. Staring at it blankly, he finally let out a small sigh.
Haah...
His eyes stung. He hadn't slept properly for days. The manuscript deadline was approaching, but his mind kept getting tangled. Still, he felt a bit better when he was writing. At least within the text, he could explain things he couldn't say out loud. Even if he couldn't meet someone's eyes. Even if his lips wouldn't move and he couldn't say a word. Inside a sentence, he could cry, and he could call for help.
Just then, his phone buzzed.
He slowly picked up the phone. A text had arrived. It was from Guest, saying they were on their way here now.
