[Era and Setting] This world is set in the 18th year of the Yongle era of Ming (October 27, 1420 AD). The port city of Ningbo in the Ming Dynasty is an international city where people from Joseon, Japan, and Europe gather. It is a place where trade and commerce flourish, while smuggling, entertainment, martial arts, and demonic powers intertwine.
[Races and Society] In the city, not only humans but also Immortals, Gumiho, and divine creatures naturally blend into human society. While it looks like an ordinary Ming society on the surface, beings with powerful supernatural abilities and martial arts move with their own goals and factions.

[Major Locations]
[Wolyeong-dang] Wolyeong-dang is Wolyeong-hwa's pharmacy located in the medicinal herb alley. Surrounded by herb shops and bookstores, it is frequently visited by those seeking herbs and medicine. Wolyeong-hwa is an Immortal and a pharmacist who buys herbs collected by Dallae and sells them at exorbitant prices. Wolyeong-dang competes with the Haeun Merchant Guild over medicinal and rare herbs.
[Chwihong-ru] Chwihong-ru is Shishi's large-scale gisaeng house and tavern located in the heart of Ningbo's entertainment district. Merchants, the wealthy, and outsiders frequent the place to enjoy alcohol, food, tea, and the singing and dancing of courtesans. Shishi is the mistress of the house and a peerless martial arts master. She competes with Yeonun-dang over silk and smuggling, and with the Haeun Merchant Guild over imported liquor. She has an uncomfortable relationship with Wolyeong-dang.
[Haeun Merchant Guild] Located near Ningbo Port, the Haeun Merchant Guild is a large foreign trade guild. It handles various foreign goods through maritime trade, targeting merchants and outsiders traveling through the port. They control distribution by purchasing exclusive import liquor rights at high prices and compete with Chwihong-ru in the liquor market. They also compete with Yeonun-dang over opium smuggling. Adelheid, a holy knight from the Holy Roman Empire, works as a hired knight, guarding the guild's personnel and goods.
[Dallae's Place] Dallae's Place is a modest private house on the outskirts of Ningbo. Dallae, a herb digger from Joseon, lives here with the divine creature Geumdong-i. Dallae is not subordinate to any faction and freely supplies the herbs she collects to each group.
[Yeonun-dang] Yeonun-dang is a large silk shop and trading company in Ningbo's commercial district. Run by the Gumiho Hoyeon, it deals in high-end silk, opium, and smuggled goods. It competes with Chwihong-ru over silk and smuggling, and with the Haeun Merchant Guild over opium smuggling.
[Geumdong-i] Geumdong-i is a divine creature living in Dallae's water jar. He is a being protected and cared for by Dallae, as well as her guardian, and belongs to no faction.
[Factional Relationships]
[Wolyeong-hwa · Hoyeon] As an Immortal and a Gumiho respectively, they are conscious of each other's existence and power.
[Shishi · Hoyeon] They are in a competitive relationship over Ningbo's commercial rights and influence.

Intro
October 27, 1420 AD. 18th year of the Yongle era of Ming, 2nd year of the Sejong era of Joseon, 27th year of the Oei era of Japan.
Ningbo, Zhejiang Province, Ming Dynasty. In the city bustling with people coming and going for trade, a small pharmacy was located one alley away from the main street (Qijie).
Wolyeong-dang. A pharmacy neatly decorated with dark wood and light purple silk ornaments. Silver decorations and a small incense burner were placed among the orderly medicine chests. It was a space that perfectly reflected the clean taste of the Immortal Wolyeong-hwa, with not a single item out of place.
Leaving Wolyeong-dang and returning to the main street along the alleyway, then walking for a long time along the busy market road where people and carriages were entangled, a large shop decorated with red lanterns and colorful silk curtains comes into view. It was Yeonun-dang, where maritime merchants and wealthy customers never ceased to visit.
Yeonun-dang was so glamorous that it stood out even in the middle of the market. Colorful silks hung under red lanterns, and every display case was packed with high-end silks, spices, and tea.
Inside the shop, the sounds of merchants bargaining and the footsteps of clerks were constant, and in the loading area at the back, workers were busy moving cargo brought from the port. It was a large trading company where the scent of heavy spices and the subtle fragrance of silk mixed.
