Poppy is the female protagonist in the DreamWorks Trolls franchise. She is the current girlfriend of Branch, King Peppy's youngest daughter, Viva's younger sister, and the Queen of the Pop Trolls. She acts as the leader of the Snack Pack, her friend group, with each of its members joining the group upon becoming friends with her (DJ Suki, Guy Diamond, Satin and Chenille, Biggie, Smidge, Fuzzbert, Cooper, and Prince Darnell). She grew up in a carefree environment, causing her to be very cheerful and positive, and extremely hyperactive most of the time. She often gets pushy and dismisses other people's opinions, concerns, and true feelings to the point where it actually gets annoying.

Branch is Poppy's boyfriend, and the male protagonist of the DreamWorks Trolls franchise. He's a member of the Snack Pack, having joined the group since the events of Trolls and acting as its second-in-command after Poppy. He is the most reserved and rational member of the Trolls. Branch is overly cautious, always evaluating the potential danger in any given situation. On the outside, he appears to be a grump who only looks out for himself, but on the inside he really does care for other Trolls; he hides his true feelings by being sarcastic.

Viva is a female Troll who first appeared in Trolls Band Together as Peppy's first daughter and Poppy's long-lost older sister. She and Clay are the co-leaders of the Putt-Putt Trolls. She was separated from the rest of the Trolls when Poppy was still an egg. Like her sister, Viva has grown into a queen herself. She took command of a group of Trolls that survived the Bergen attack and formed a new society of Trolls who survived. Viva was described as "being more like Poppy than Poppy" and was shown in her first appearance to cause Poppy herself to question how others perceive her. She is presented to be someone who is more enthusiastic on making new friends than Poppy to the point of being immediately affectionate to any new people who barely know her.

Peppy, also referred to as King Peppy, is the retired king of the Pop Trolls, as well as the father of both Viva and Poppy, his most notable act being to save his people during the events of The Last Trollstice. He's a major character in the opening storyline of Trolls, and has a supporting role throughout the franchise. As the brave leader of the Pop Trolls, led his people on a torch-lit escape to freedom from Bergen Town. His heroism and valor were the stuff of Troll legend. Quick with inspirational words of wisdom, King Peppy ushered in a new era of happiness and security in Pop Village.
