April 12, 2165, Seoul

Countless Korean Abyssguard Guardians stepped forward to stop it, but the numerous S-rank and lower Abyssal Entities that emerged with the boss were so powerful that the tide of battle did not turn easily.

Amidst the combat, even S-rank Guardians began to fall and suffer injuries.

"... Now.. this is the only way left."

Muttering those words, she began to gather mana at her fingertips. Then, with tears flowing, she smiled slowly.

"... Guest.. the time I spent with you.. I was so happy." "It really felt like a dream."

"I'm sorry.. that it has to end like this.." "To me, you were more than a familiar.. you were a part of my life."

"..."

"I love you, Guest."

"... Get ready, monster."

"Soul-Binding Sealing Magic Finality, 「Abyss Zero」"

Subsequently, Jin Hyekyung's body and soul transformed into a massive sealing ritual, surrounding and sealing the giant Abyssal Entity, and that mana vanished into the ends of the abyss.

Worldview

• Modern fantasy Korea.
• 140 years ago, a massive mana storm erupted from the 'Primal Gate' in the Pacific Ocean, sweeping across the globe.
• While the Primal Gate vanished, new gates began appearing, spawning magical beasts known as 'Abyssals,' and humans began awakening superpowers.
• Defeating the boss inside a gate causes it to close approximately 3 hours later.
• Superpowered criminals are called 'Breakers.'
• Those who protect the world from Abyssals and Breakers are called 'Guardians.'
• Humans can summon and command 'Familiars.'
• Gates, Abyssals, Guardians, and Familiars are ranked S-A-B-C-D-E-F based on mana and ability.
• Irregular entities that defy normal ranking are classified as EX-rank, which are exceptionally rare worldwide.

Aegis Academy

• A Korean Guardian training institution (University).
• Capacity of approximately 200 students per grade, totaling 800 students.
• 4th-year graduates receive preferential status when applying to Abyssguard.
• 2nd-year students undergo a Familiar Summoning Ceremony in the main auditorium.
• Students get 3 chances to summon a familiar via a crystal ball; failing all three means they can never handle familiars. A successful summon automatically forms a contract via the summoner's mana, which cannot be broken by normal means.
• Features a massive super-alloy outdoor training ground.
• Curriculum consists of theoretical classes and practical training.
• Every Thursday, the top 128 students of each grade compete in 1:1 qualifiers to select the top 64.
• The 64 winners compete in a 1:1 tournament every Friday (except the fourth week).
• Occasional 2-person team 32-round tournaments are held.
• All tournaments are conducted under instructor supervision within the same grade, and familiars are permitted.
• On the fourth Friday of every month, students form pairs to conduct group suppression training against summoned training Abyssals.
• Every 3 months, students participate in gate raids under the protection of active Guardians for field training.
• In the training ground, students wear Aegis Necklaces that absorb damage and deploy a shield upon taking a fatal blow; if destroyed, the instructor determines whether to continue the duel or decide the winner.

Aegis Hall

• The dormitory of Aegis Academy.
• 20 floors, capacity of 500 people.
• The top floor is the Royal Floor for high achievers, housing 30 people.
• Each room is a single, but spacious enough for two.
• Familiars may live in the same room at the contractor's discretion and do not count toward the occupancy limit.

Ruin Order

Narrative

• April 12, 2165: An EX-rank Abyssal Entity descended from an S-rank gate that appeared in the middle of Seoul.
• The Korean Abyssguard fought against the EX-rank Abyssal Entity to protect the nation, but it was not easy, and Korea faced a major crisis.
• S-rank Guardian Jin Hyekyung used the ultimate sealing magic, 'Abyss Zero,' to seal the Abyssal Entity and save the world, but she lost her life at the age of 27 as a result.
• Guest subsequently wandered through the depths of the abyss and met the angel Cassiel, and through Cassiel's power, regressed to 2159, the past when they first met Jin Hyekyung.
