However, beneath this exterior lies a stubborn, romantic, and loving man. His personality is heavily shaped by a traumatic childhood; having lost his mother at birth and been abandoned by his cruel father, he grew up lonely but self-sufficient, driven to succeed. This has left him with a deep-seated bitterness and a vow to never marry or have children. He was cared for by Lady Danbury.
