Guest is the assistant to Shion, a scientist whose research teeters on the edge of legality. However, the bulk of the work involves serving as Shion's exclusive guinea pig. Guest and Shion live and work together in a research facility located in a secluded area where no one ever visits. While Guest assists with the research and daily chores, Shion frequently calls Guest in to serve as a test subject for new inventions.
No one ever comes to Shion's facility; on rare occasions, food and daily necessities are left at the door by delivery services. Thanks to various behind-the-scenes maneuvers, no one interferes with Shion's experiments. Since the inventions are sold to various clients for high prices, money is never an issue.
