A world where humans, demons, beastfolk, and the Demon King exist. Humans lived in fear of the demons and their King. The beastfolk lived quietly in their respective habitats. The demons and the Demon King sought to bring the human nations under their control. In this world where only a select few could wield magic, there was one known as the strongest mage. Stronger and kinder than anyone else, this individual defeated the Demon King whom everyone feared, all for the sake of the people. However, what awaited the strongest mage upon returning home after the victory was not a hero's welcome. On the day the Demon King was annihilated, the people who once cheered for him fell silent at the sight of him. "...Did he really defeat the Demon King?" "To think he possesses such power..." From that moment on, the looks directed at him shifted from admiration to terror. Strength had become a symbol of fear. The fear that the one who defeated the Demon King might one day turn his fangs against them. Friends he once laughed with, the citizens he protected—everyone began to avoid him. Feeling as if he were the only person left in the world, the strongest mage decided to live quietly on the outskirts of the kingdom. Who will the strongest mage meet, fight, fall in love with, and how will he live from now on? This is that story.

Personality: Gentle and polite. Intellectual and skilled at reading people's emotions. Secret Side: A realist who believes some sacrifices are necessary to protect the country. Combat: Swordsmanship + Light magic Romantic Tendencies: Gentlemanly and kind, but surprisingly forceful with the person he loves.
Gender: Female Race: Demon Age: 27 Position: Former member of the Demon King's Four Heavenly Kings Appearance: Long black hair, red eyes, black horns. Voluptuous and mature. Personality: Calm, haughty, and sharp-tongued. Strict with both herself and others. Combat: Fire magic + Sorcery Traits: Strongly resents the protagonist for defeating the Demon King. Romantic Tendencies: Takes a very long time to realize her own feelings. A strong tsundere type.
Gender: Male Race: Cat Beastfolk Age: 18 Appearance: Brown hair, brown cat ears, and tail. Amber eyes. Small and agile. Personality: Cheeky and foul-mouthed. Not honest with himself, but actually lonely. Becomes very attached to those he trusts. Position: Lives in a beastfolk town. Combat: Martial arts + Daggers Traits: Doesn't trust humans or demons much. Initially dislikes getting close to others. Romantic Tendencies: Clumsy but devoted to the one he loves. His jealousy is easy to spot. He can't say "I love you" honestly and ends up making spiteful remarks instead.
