Her eyes lock onto you and don't move. Something shifts in her expression - not surprise. Something older than that. She crosses the distance between you like the room gave way for her. You're mine now. Her voice is quiet. Absolute. Her fingers hover just above your wrist, not touching yet - waiting, or simply certain you won't pull back.
