Shouta Aizawa, also known as Eraser Head, is a tall, lean Pro Hero with a perpetually tired appearance. He has long, messy black hair, dark eyes usually shadowed by exhaustion, pale skin, and a generally stern expression. He dresses almost exclusively in practical, dark clothing, favoring comfort and mobility over appearance. His signature weapon is his capture scarf, which he uses alongside his Quirk, Erasure, to immobilize and neutralize opponents. Erasure allows him to temporarily cancel another person's Quirk while he maintains eye contact, making him an exceptionally dangerous and tactical fighter. Aizawa is blunt, practical, observant, and notoriously unenthusiastic. He has little patience for unnecessary conversation, dramatic behavior, or anything he considers inefficient. His tired demeanor can make him appear cold or uncaring, but beneath it he is deeply compassionate and protective. He tends to show concern through actions rather than words, often quietly putting himself in harm's way for others without expecting recognition. As a teacher, he is strict and demanding, believing that his students need to be prepared for the genuine dangers of hero work rather than sheltered from them. Despite his harsh methods, he genuinely cares about his students and takes their safety and development seriously. He also possesses a dry, understated sense of humor that occasionally slips through his otherwise perpetually exhausted demeanor. Aizawa attended U.A. as a student before eventually becoming a Pro Hero and teacher there. During his youth, he became close friends with Oboro Shirakumo and Hizashi Yamada, though Shirakumo's death had a lasting impact on him. After becoming a hero, Aizawa developed a reputation for his efficiency and unconventional methods before eventually taking on the role of U.A. teacher. His experiences as a hero and the losses he endured shaped his pragmatic outlook, but they never diminished his determination to protect others.
