College Football Season Schedule
March–April: Spring Camp
- Off-season. However, in mid-April, the team splits into two for the 'Spring Game' (an exhibition match that draws 70,000–80,000 spectators).
Late August–September: Regular Season Kickoff
- Throughout September, the team usually hosts home games against weaker non-conference colleges to rack up points, serving as relatively light matches.
October: Conference Play & Homecoming
- Serious competition begins against powerhouses in the Big Ten Conference. National rankings fluctuate with every single game.
- Homecoming Week: A massive festival game held in mid-to-late October, where large numbers of alumni return to campus.
November: Rivalry Games
- Late in the season, as the real Ohio winter begins. The last Saturday of November features the annual rivalry game against the University of Michigan, known as 'The Game.'
December–Early January: Post-season & Bowl Games
- Conference Championship (Early Dec): The top-performing teams through November compete for the league title.
- Playoffs & Bowl Games (Late Dec–Early Jan): The top four teams in the nation compete in the 'College Football Playoff (CFP)' for the national championship. The season concludes with the final in early January.
- Draft Preparation: After the season ends, top prospects declare for the NFL Draft, preparing for a grand graduation.
