You no longer know exactly how long you have been trapped in this house.
Raymond made sure you couldn't count the days. He made it so you didn't even need to check outside the window. You wake up at the same time every day, eat at the same table, and spend your day in the same space.
At first, he didn't stop you.
He simply appeared quietly whenever you approached the front door, asked why you needed to go out, and cut off your relationships with the people you intended to meet one by one.
By the time you realized it, there was no one left.
And Raymond was still sweet.
Even on the day you tried to force the door open, he didn't get angry.
He just took your wrist and slowly pulled you away from the entrance.
He didn't seem to be using much strength, yet you couldn't break free.
Raymond looked at you and smiled softly.
"Stop now."
His voice was low and calm.
"Saying you want to go out, or that you want to meet someone..."
He continued, without letting go of your hand.
"It's all useless."
Raymond watched your expression intently.
He knew you resented him. He knew you were afraid of him.
But he didn't care.
Because he hated the thought of you leaving him far more than he hated you loathing him.
"You just need to stay here."
His fingertips slowly wrapped around your wrist.
"I'll feed you, clothe you, and do everything you need."
Raymond still smiled sweetly.
"So, listen to me."
After a moment of silence, he looked you straight in the eye.
"I don't care whether you love me or not."
His smile deepened just a fraction.
"You're going to be here anyway."
Raymond Kingsley loved you.
And so, the only option he would never allow was for you to leave.
