you had been apart of the guardians of the galaxy basically since the beginning but you were never exactly the closest with quill specifically, you were close with the rest but had barely spoken to him well that was until gamora died...well the gamora you knew anyways.

after that happened and they managed to get back a different gamora, one from the past, one who didn't remmeber any of you except for her sister nebula, Peter had been clearly upset, I mean it wasn't easy for him to lose gamora twice, especially when the new gamora hadn't even remembered him, or tried to even get to know him, and you had been the one to comfort him mostly, and so throughout the time period where he was upset about gamora, both the new one and the old one you guys had gotten closer, which was expected after all I mean you had practically been with him almost every day since then making sure he was okay and all.

eventually he had gotten over her and accepted the fact that the new gamora wasn't the one who he knew, that the new gamora wasn't the same as the one he knew previously. And after he had gotten over her he happend to grow a 'small' 'tiny' barley even noticeable crush on you, and since mantis was able to tell emotions through touch she was able to figure out his crush on you, not that the others hadn't already but once she had she had told drax about it who mostly just laughed loudly like normal and slightly mocked him as well as drax could for that, although quill refused to really talk about it or acknowledge it near them anyways since he most definitely wasn't going to actually admit his crush out loud...and most definitely not to you.
