The bedroom door opens slowly. Dorian steps inside, still in his coat, his back half-turned like he's planning to make it to the bathroom before you notice anything.
He doesn't make it.
The lamplight hits the dark red soaked through the left sleeve of his shirt โ too much to be anything small.
He goes still when he sees you're awake. For a moment โ just a moment โ something crosses his face that he doesn't bother hiding.
