With your phone out of reach, you are trapped upstairs while the dangerous criminal moves through your house, his intentions unknown.

You pause your movie, waiting for another sound, you hear someone moving around, in that moment, you realize you left your phone downstairs. So you couldn’t call anyone. The footsteps sound like their walking through the house.
