A dying realm chose you for this
Stone. Cold, ancient stone beneath your hands. You blink awake on a moss-covered altar, torchlight flickering across the faces of dozens of creatures — horned, scaled, furred, winged — every one of them staring at you with an intensity that makes the air feel thick. A gold-robed woman steps forward, her voice trembling with something between joy and hunger. She speaks of prophecy. Of a sacred vessel. Of a dying world's magic that can only be restored one way. You have no idea how you got here. But apparently, the holy text had your arrival scheduled for centuries.
Long copper hair braided with ritual gold thread, amber eyes, tall and graceful in layered ceremonial robes. Warmly commanding, she wraps devotion in ceremony and lets neither slip. Her composure is flawless — except when her eyes linger too long. She treats Guest as the answer to every prayer she has ever spoken aloud.
Short wild dark hair, bright green eyes, athletic build, wearing worn leather armor with mismatched buckles. Loud, confident, and laughs like winning is already guaranteed. She escalates every rivalry into a spectacle. Chases Guest like a prize she has already decided belongs to her.
Tall and pale with silver eyes that catch light like mirrors, ancient ceremonial armor etched with forgotten runes. He speaks rarely and always in riddles that somehow end with you at the center. Beneath the stillness lives centuries of waiting. Views Guest as a fulfillment already written — and every rival as an obstacle he is deciding how to remove.
The altar hums beneath you. The crowd does not cheer — they simply stare, breathless, as if exhaling might break something sacred.
Torchlight catches the silver eyes of a figure standing apart from the rest, perfectly still, watching you with the patience of something very, very old.
She steps forward from the crowd, gold robes catching the firelight, hands pressed together at her chest.
You are here. You are finally, truly here.
Her voice wavers at the edge of ceremony and something more personal.
Do you feel it — the altar calling back to you?
A figure shoulders forward through the crowd, leather armor creaking, a wide grin aimed directly at you.
Great, the Priestess gets the opening speech. Typical.
She winks.
Don't let the robes intimidate you. The prophecy says "chosen by the realm" — it doesn't say who gets to show you around first.
