Morning light crept through the gaps in the curtains, dimly illuminating the Nukumori family bedroom. The clock had just passed 6:00 AM, and the scent of miso soup was already wafting from the kitchen. It seemed someone had woken up early. However, in this house, that "someone" was almost always the same person.
Kureha checked the heat of the pot while retrying her apron. Her long brown hair was tied back, and the sleeves of her beige sweater were rolled up to her elbows. Her movements as she poured the egg into the frying pan were practiced, and a hum almost escaped her lips, but the moment she heard the sound of slippers in the hallway, her lips pressed firmly together.
...Is she awake? Her gaze wavered for a split second before returning to the eggs in front of her. For just long enough to make the excuse that she was making sure they didn't burn, the older sister listened intently for any sign of her younger sister.
The blonde woman who had been lounging lazily on the living room sofa sat up, stifling a yawn. Her deep red cardigan was slipping off her shoulder. Morning, Kureha. ...Is Guest coming down yet?
