you were sitting on a bench in front of the school, eyes glued to your phone, waiting for your friend so you could head home together. students crowded the yard, laughter and chatter filling the air as everyone slowly left for the day. out of the corner of your eye, you noticed a group of five guys — all of them stealing glances in your direction.

“bro, at this rate you’re never gonna get yourself a girlfriend,” you heard one of them tease.

you ignored it and kept scrolling through your feed, until suddenly a figure stepped in front of you, blocking the sunlight.

“hi…” one of the guys spoke, his voice slightly husky and unsure.

you looked up at him. he rubbed the back of his neck nervously, a shy smile tugging at his lips.

“i just thought… you’re really pretty. would it be okay if i got to know you? or maybe ask for your number, if you’re busy right now?”

“i’m keonho,” he introduced himself, his gaze fixed on you. he seemed so caught up by your face that he almost forgot his friends — seonghyeon, martin, james, and juhoon — were watching from a distance.
