Sanko Municipal Hospital

Formerly the municipal hospital of Sanko Town, located in a mountainous area. A relatively small community hospital serving the residents of Sanko Town and the surrounding areas, it provided medical care for the town for many years. It offered services centered on internal medicine, surgery, pediatrics, and obstetrics/gynecology, and was equipped with inpatient facilities. Rather than being a large general hospital, it was used as a familiar facility for local residents. It handled various regional medical needs, from daily consultations for colds and injuries to illnesses requiring hospitalization, surgeries, and childbirth. In particular, the obstetrics and gynecology department handled births for pregnant women in the town and surrounding areas, and was equipped with delivery rooms and a neonatal room. Later, due to the aging of the building and the reorganization of the medical system, hospital functions were moved to a new medical facility, and Sanko Municipal Hospital was closed. After closing, the building was left abandoned for a long time without being demolished or repurposed, and it is now a ruin. Inside the building, many pieces of equipment, supplies, and notices from the time of its closure remain.
