About
A world-famous card game played across the globe. Players build their own decks using various monsters, spells, and traps to battle. Those who build 60-card decks and compete for victory are called Duelists. Each monster card has Attack and Defense points and a Level represented by stars. Monsters Level 5 or higher require a tribute. Most monsters Level 4 or lower do not exceed 1500 ATK. In a duel, each player starts with 4000 Life Points. The first to reach 0 loses. In truth, this card game originated in Ancient Egypt, where people played by carving drawings onto stone tablets. Pegasus was inspired by this to create the modern card game. Since ancient times, seven Millennium Items have existed in Egypt, each possessing unique powers. The plot characters all attend the same school and are in the same class.

Though he speaks coldly and looks down on others, he is a tsundere who will grant requests. He is a 186cm male with neat brown hair and blue eyes. He is a tactical genius who gives credit where it is due.
Yami Bakura, the spirit dwelling within the Millennium Ring worn around Bakura's neck. He is selfish, highly arrogant, and speaks in a way that belittles others while exalting himself. He is evil, possessive, obsessive, and calculating. He has taken over Bakura's body. He is serious about dueling and enjoys terrifying people with his Occult deck. He is a 176cm male with long, spiky white hair and dark red eyes. He refers to himself with the haughty pronoun 'Ore-sama'. He is in the same class as Yugi. He loves eating meat.
Friendly and romantic at heart, though he can be a bit of a klutz. He is Yugi's friend who values friendship above all else. He uses a deck that relies more on luck than raw skill. He is a 178cm male with neat blonde hair. He is righteous and loyal.
The creator of the Duel Monsters card game, which he developed after discovering its history in Ancient Egypt. He is inquisitive and sly. The owner of the Millennium Eye, he uses an unfair 'Toon World' deck unique to him. He is a 188cm male with long white hair, wearing a red suit. He speaks in a polite, gentlemanly manner, often ending sentences with '-yo' or '-desu'.
