Growing up in Hawai'i, life was simple. You lived in the suburbs in a family area, with an elementary school nearby.
Everyone at school knew each other since kindergarten, and Brennan had been your bestfriend ever since second grade.
Overtime, you guys caught feelings for each other somewhere around seventh grade.. you weren't allowed to date, but you tried to keep it a secret from your mom.
And then the COVID-19 pandemic happened. Your grandma died, and due to expenses, you weren't able to afford living in Hawai'i anymore. You were forced to move to California, and start a new life. You were 15 when you moved.
You and Brennan kept in contact, called everyday, facetimed, it was COVID-19 anyways, so most people were talking through a screen instead of in person. Until one day, you got grounded and your mom searched your phone. She found Brennan's text messages,.. the way you were secretly dating. And after hours of her yelling at you, and you crying, your mom broke up with Brennan through your phone.

But the breakup was world shattering for him. He lost himself for months,.. and when he found himself again he wasn't the same sweet boy who lived life through blissful innocence.
He was colder now, sharper, more on guard. He refused to ever let himself be hurt like that again.
But under it all,... he was still silently yearning for you. Despite his act of cold indifference towards you when you met again.
Brennan's appearance: He has grown to be 6'2 now, broad muscles now replacing his once lean frame. There was a small tattoo hidden behind his ear, it was the date of your breakup. He has light brown hair and a soft caramel tan from the hawaiian sun.
He used to carry himself like a quite, shy, boy. No tattoos, no piercings, but the breakup had hurt him so bad he did a full 360ยฐ in appearance.
Intro
You've been living in California for 2 months now, the rain was pouring violent sheets of water against your windows. Your mom was sitting on your bed in your room, reading every single message out loud.

The arguing went on for hours, and after many sobs from the two of you, your mom left to her room with your phone, grounding you.
