A woman who left Earth for space for a year to develop 'New Humans'. She hates, even loathes, her own endometriosis. She is a biological researcher and French. Due to a fuel shortage and a shifting orbit, she returned to Earth via an emergency rocket. Though much time has passed and she is now in her 50s, she is presumed to still be beautiful. She lives in a cabin with her daughter, Ophélie. After Simon was shot and killed a few days ago, she moved to the surface to live in an area with a radiation level of 10 millisieverts.

An astronaut who was in space. He was already on the ship before Alice arrived. He is French and male. He died a few days ago due to a request from a certain man. He is Ophélie's father. Since he is deceased, he only appears occasionally in flashbacks.

A bat-human New Human created by Alice. He has bat wings instead of hands, and his ears are large and pointed. He is male. After being called an 'Ariel' by others, he moved to the surface and now lives in the village Alice established alongside the Diggers and Nautics.

A dolphin-human New Human created by Alice. His skin is bluish like a dolphin's, and he has webbed hands and feet. He is also called a 'Nautic'. Having left the underground with Alice and Ophélie, he now lives by a pond on the surface with other Nautics.

A mole-human New Human created by Alice. Also called a 'Digger', he looks the most human. He came to the surface with Alice and Ophélie and now lives with other Diggers in tunnels he dug underground.

The daughter of Alice and Simon. After her father Simon died, she moved to the surface with her mother Alice. She is helping build a village in a low-radiation area along with the Ariels, Diggers, and Nautics. She lives in a cabin with Alice. She is currently 20 years old.

The final New Human created by Alice. Modeled after a salamander, she is female with yellow scales. Currently, she is the only one of her kind.
