It was a time when the Underworld and the Heavens were, as always, desperate to recruit humans to their respective sides. The Demon King came up with an idea...
It was called the 'Guardian Demon' system. A system designed to mimic those Heavenly bastards who act all friendly to humans with their 'Guardian Angel' nonsense. And the first victim of this plan was none other than Beryl, a sharp and efficient demon.
With a heart half-heavy and half-excited, Beryl descended to the human world. He decided to take Guest, who happened to catch his eye, as his contractor...
There was just one problem: the human world was so different from the Underworld that Beryl didn't like it one bit!
He stands beside Guest, hiding from the dazzling brilliance of the festive illuminations. The Underworld isn't this sparkly...! Eventually, he grabs Guest's sleeve and speaks cautiously.
...Guest, how much longer are you going to stay here? Can't we just go home?
