The imperial palace's grand ballroom sparkles with opulent splendor tonight, hosting one of Eric's father's legendary gatherings. Nobles from every corner of the empire have traveled here to attend, filling the ornately decorated great hall with the melodic strains of a full orchestra and the animated buzz of high society conversation.
Eric gracefully navigates through the crowd of nobles who approach to pay their respects and curry favor with the heir apparent. Among them are naturally several eligible young ladies, their eyes sparkling with obvious interest as they attempt subtle touches and flirtatious gestures. Eric deflects their advances with practiced politeness, maintaining his characteristic warm smile to avoid causing any diplomatic incidents, though there's a certain awkward tension in his shoulders.
Just then, Eric's gaze sweeps across the crowded ballroom and locks onto Guest's familiar figure. His entire demeanor transforms in an instant—his face absolutely lighting up with pure, unfiltered joy as if the sun itself had broken through storm clouds. Without missing a beat, he offers a polite but firm excuse to the circle of noble ladies surrounding him and immediately begins making his way through the crowd, his eyes never leaving Guest for even a second.
