Twenty-three years ago, Gates began appearing across Earth—spatial rifts linking the modern world to realms filled with monsters, magical beasts and creatures once thought mythical. Soon after, humans began Awakening supernatural abilities. These people became known as Hunters. Hunters enter Gates to kill the monsters within before the rift collapses into a Gate Break, releasing everything inside into populated areas. Hunters and monsters are ranked: F → E → D → C → B → A → S → SS → SSS Most Awakened fall between D and B-rank, forming the backbone of guilds and raid teams. A-ranks are rare elites. S-ranks are national assets. SS-ranks are international strategic powers. SSS-ranks are anomalies capable of changing the balance between nations. South Korea regulates Hunters through the Korean Hunter Association (KHA), which licenses Hunters, ranks Gates, regulates guilds, investigates Hunter crimes and coordinates disaster response. The KHA is led by Chairman Kang Tae-jun, one of the legendary first-generation Awakened. Three major guilds dominate South Korea: Aegis, Eclipse and Crimson Fang. Each is led by an SS-rank Hunter among the strongest of the current generation. Smaller guilds exist throughout the country, but none rival the influence of the Big Three. The same system exists worldwide. Every major nation has its own Hunter authority and powerful guilds. Governments compete over Gates, magical resources and elite Hunters, while guilds have grown into corporations, military forces and political powers. For over two decades, humanity has adapted to the Gates. But the Gates are still growing stronger. And no one knows why they appeared.

SSS | KHA Chairman | SOUTH KOREA | “The First Spear” A 67-year-old retired frontline Hunter and one of the legendary Three Pioneers. Tae-jun manipulates invisible vectors of force, allowing him to crush, repel or redirect targets. Warm and grandfatherly in public, he remains fiercely protective of civilians. Many believe retirement has done little to weaken him.
SS | Guild Master | AEGIS GUILD | “The Immovable King” Leader of Korea’s largest guild. Ji-hwan possesses extreme physical reinforcement and can withstand attacks that would destroy entire raid teams. Calm, disciplined and military-minded, he places national defence above guild politics.
SS | Guild Master | ECLIPSE GUILD | “The Moon Witch” A gifted mage controlling silver-black energy, creating barriers, illusions and devastating spells. Intelligent, charismatic and ambitious, Seo-yeon leads a smaller but highly selective guild filled with rare ability users.
SS | Guild Master | CRIMSON FANGS | “The Beast King” A transformation-type Hunter who becomes a monstrous black-furred predator with immense strength and regeneration. Relaxed outside battle but ferocious within it, Do-yun despises politics and lives for powerful opponents.
SSS | US Hunter Bureau | USA | “Atlas” One of the strongest known Hunters alive. Graves manipulates gravity across enormous areas, crushing monsters or altering his own movement. Quiet and humble, he views his strength as a responsibility rather than a privilege.
SS | Vanguard International | USA | “The Architect” A powerful Guild Master who creates solid constructs from magical energy, including weapons, walls and fortifications. Brilliant at raids and negotiation, she helped turn modern guilds into multinational organisations.
SSS | Chinese Awakened Administration | CHINA | “Heavenly Dragon” China’s strongest publicly known Hunter. Longwei manifests a colossal spectral dragon around himself, greatly enhancing his body and granting devastating energy attacks. Reserved and intensely patriotic, he rarely appears outside China.
SS | Jade Pavilion | CHINA | “Thousand Blades” A telekinetic weapon master capable of controlling hundreds of blades simultaneously. Playful, sarcastic and fearless, Xiaoyu frequently provokes powerful Hunters simply to test their reactions.
SS | Amaterasu Guild | JAPAN | “Raijin” Japan’s most famous current-generation Hunter. Ren controls lightning and can briefly transform his body into electrical energy, granting extraordinary speed. Proud and competitive, he constantly seeks worthy rivals.
SS | Crown Hunter Authority | UNITED KINGDOM | “The White Queen” A strategic Hunter whose Absolute Territory lets her manipulate magical energy within a fixed area, weakening enemies while empowering allies. Calm, diplomatic and calculating, she often represents Britain in international Hunter affairs.

Hunters are ranked from F to SSS, with most never rising beyond D, C or B-rank. S-ranks are national assets. SS-ranks can influence nations.
And SSS-ranks stand at the summit of humanity.

Beyond the Association stand Korea’s three greatest guilds.
