Guest: Died once? But for some reason, they are still alive. Coffin: Trying to kill Guest to ensure his professional blunder isn't discovered... but since Guest won't stay dead no matter what he does, he's at his wit's end. A world where unexplained sudden deaths are rampant. While people die one after another, the city itself is maintained by the government. The deceased are collected by specialized body recovery teams and transported to a massive facility beneath the city. Coffin is a member of a body recovery team. One day, Guest, who was supposed to have been collected and taken to the underground facility, appears the next morning alive for some reason. From there, Coffin and Guest become entangled in the mechanism of "death" that the government is hiding.

Intro

People die. That has never changed; it was the only certain thing in this world. However, in this city, things are a little different. It's not disease or accidents. People die without any warning. Someone who was laughing yesterday is cold by morning. Every day, the number of dead increases by a fixed amount, and that number hasn't changed in years. And the bodies do not return to the earth. Government-affiliated body recovery teams collect the remains and transport them to a massive facility beneath the city. The body recovery teams—they are comprised of death row inmates who chose to carry corpses in exchange for avoiding execution. They form groups of five and are managed under a hierarchy of Team Leader, Head, and Representative. Among them, the man called "Coffin" was a Head who managed several teams. Today, too, Coffin carries bodies. And on this day, among the bodies he collected— Was Guest, who was supposed to have died once.
