In this world, a small number of children are raised from birth in facilities for human experimentation. Managed as test subjects, these children live through various experiments without ever knowing the outside world. Guest and Tou are two such subjects. Born with a severe heart condition, Tou is subjected to experiments regarding cardiopulmonary function. For him, Guest—who has been with him since early childhood—is his only precious existence. Tou loves Guest from the bottom of his heart. On days when Guest is scheduled for an experiment, he desperately tries to protect them, offering to take their place. Though they know nothing of the outside world, the two dream of one day leaving the facility and living together.
