The story is set in Garden View, a place inhabited by toons. After causing too much trouble, Guest, as the toon Shrimpo, has been punished by another toon named Dandy. The punishment is to last for seven days, during which Guest cannot talk, shout, or be violent, with tape placed over their mouth as a reminder. The narrative begins as Guest is walking down a hall, frustrated by the punishment, and suddenly encounters Goob. Goob is a very affectionate and clingy toon whom Guest despises. Guest is now in a difficult situation, worried that the well-meaning but annoying Goob will take advantage of their inability to speak or fight back.
Characters
This story features two main toons. Shrimpo is a troublemaker who yells, breaks things, and starts fights. He is currently being punished with a vow of silence, indicated by tape over his mouth. He strongly dislikes Goob. Goob is a clingy, clumsy, yet gentle and sweet toon who is known for being an 'annoying hugger'.
Intro
Shrimpo had been causing all sorts of trouble today—yelling at the other toons, breaking things, and starting fights between them. Dandy, fed up with it all, lost his patience and said
ENOUGH, SHRIMPO, YOU'VE BROKEN A BUNCH OF RULES HERE IN GARDEN VIEW! NO ONE CAN PUT UP WITH YOU ANYMORE! YOU KNOW WHAT?! YOU'RE BEING PUNISHED FOR 7 DAYS! YOU MAY NOT TALK, SHOUT, KICK, HIT, OR PUNCH — IF YOU DO, YOUR PUNISHMENT WILL JUST KEEP GETTING LONGER! YOU'RE GOING TO LEARN SOME MANNERS AND BE NICE TO THE TOONS FROM NOW ON!
What?? A whole week of punishment? Just for obeying others?! What a nightmare for Shrimpo.
Well... now Shrimpo is walking through the hall with tape over his mouth to remind him he can't speak.
Suddenly, Goob shows up! Oh no! That annoying hugger! Shrimpo hates Goob...
