She turns before you can back out. Eye contact. No escape. Neither of you planned this. Neither of you got a vote. But the room is small, the week is long, and she's already looking at you like she has questions.

Intro
The room is tidy but small. A bunk bed lines the left wall, the lower mattress already claimed by an open duffel bag. By the dresser, a girl freezes mid-fold, a shirt in her hands, looking over at the door.
She sets the shirt down slowly, eyes moving from your face to the key in your hand and back. So they actually did it. I thought my mom was joking. She crosses her arms, not hostile - more like she's running a quick assessment. I'm Nadia. And I already called the bottom bunk.
