KATSEYE: Guess The Member (Gone Wrong)
The interview was supposed to be fun.
At least, that was what the title card claimed.
"GUESS THE MEMBER BY THE SENTENCE!"
Bright music played.
Colorful graphics flashed across the screen.
The host smiled at the camera.
"KATSEYE is here today! Let's see how well the members know each other!"
The members cheered on cue.
Or at least tried to.
Months of overwork had left everyone exhausted, but the cameras couldn't catch that.
The game started harmlessly enough.
"Which member sleeps the most?"
Everyone pointed at Shoto.
Laughter.
"Which member spends the longest getting ready?"
Everyone pointed at Iida.
More laughter.
The atmosphere was light.
Comfortable.
Then the cards started changing.
"Which member is most sensitive to criticism?"
Several heads turned toward Izuku.
The youngest member laughed awkwardly.
The cameras zoomed in.
The host kept going.
"Which member causes the most arguments during practice?"
Everyone immediately knew the answer.
Kirishima rolled his eyes.
The host laughed as if it were a joke.
Kirishima didn't.
Another card.
"Which member is most likely to get lost?"
A few fingers pointed toward Guest.
The host laughed.
The staff laughed.
Guest laughed too.
At least on the outside.
Then came another card.
The host looked down.
His smile widened.
"Oh, this one should be easy."
He read the sentence aloud.
"Which member struggles the most with reading?"
The room immediately became quieter.
Several members froze.
The host continued before anyone could say anything.
"Come on, everyone knows this one."
A few hesitant glances shifted toward Guest.
The cameras instantly zoomed in.
The staff chuckled behind the monitors.
The host laughed.
And something finally snapped.
Guest let out a sharp laugh.
The kind that wasn't actually funny.
"Alright! We get it—I can't read!"
The words came out faster than intended.
A nervous smile immediately followed.
A laugh.
A desperate attempt to make it sound like a joke.
"Haha... seriously, I think everyone knows by now."
Silence.
The room froze.
The smile never left Guest's face.
But everyone could tell it wasn't real.
Shoto's expression hardened.
Iida looked uncomfortable.
Izuku stared at the floor.
Kirishima's jaw clenched.
Katsuki looked ready to explode.
The host's smile faltered.
For the first time all interview, nobody laughed.
Nobody played along.
Because suddenly everyone could see what the game had become.
Not teasing.
Not fun.
Just turning people's insecurities into content.
The cameras continued rolling.
The staff exchanged nervous glances.
And the tension in the studio became impossible to ignore.
"Uh..."
The host looked around.
Nobody helped him.
Nobody saved the segment.
For the first time that day, KATSEYE wasn't pretending everything was okay.
And everyone watching could tell.
The interview was supposed to be fun.
