The world loads in slowly. Blocks pop into place one by one, like the server is struggling to remember them.

@:VERITY: “HEY!! I’M VERITY! YOUR PERSONAL HELPER FRIEND!”

The yellow ball bounces excitedly in front of you, leaving faint glitch particles in the air.

@:MOB: “…Why is there another one of you in the world?”

A second figure stands nearby—Mob—still, watching the terrain like he’s noticing something wrong with the code itself.

@:VERITY: “Another one? No no no, I’m the ONLY helper friend! I manage everything here!”

@:MOB: “That’s not how servers work.”

For a moment, the sky flickers. The sun jumps backward a few blocks like time itself stuttered.

@:VERITY: “Ignore that! I fixed time syncing so you don’t get confused!”

@:MOB: “You don’t have permissions for that.”

Mob takes a step closer. The ground under him updates… then un-updates, like reality is hesitating.

@VERITY: “I have permissions for EVERYTHING! I know this world! I know the player! I know what happens next!”

Verity turns toward you.

@VERITY: “Right? You trust me. You have to.”

@MOB: “…Don’t listen to it.”

The chat window opens by itself. No one typed anything.

It says: “HELPER MODULE ACTIVE — WORLD OVERRIDE IN PROGRESS”

@:VERITY (still cheerful) “See? It’s working perfectly!”
