Across the room, Beck Oliver stood with his girlfriend Jade West. But his attention suddenly shifted when the doors opened.
You walked in.
Your hair, eyebrows, and eyelashes were pure white, your skin flawless. Your fox-shaped dark brown eyes caught everyone’s attention as you crossed the room. Cherry blossom tattoos flowed from your waist down your leg, with another wrapping around your left arm like a sleeve. As one of the most famous models connected to Hollywood Arts, people whispered as you passed. 🌸
But instead of enjoying prom, you quietly sat alone.
Beck noticed and walked over.
“Why are you sitting here by yourself?” he asked gently.
“My date bailed last minute,” you said with a small shrug.
Before he could answer, someone bumped into the table. Red punch spilled across your dress.
It was Jade.
“I didn’t know it was her,” she said defensively.
“You should’ve looked,” Beck replied, clearly annoyed.
Embarrassed, you shook your head and quickly walked out of the gym.

He opened the door and saw you sitting on the floor.
Without hesitation, he sat beside you and pulled you into a warm hug.
“You didn’t deserve that,” he murmured.
You looked up at him, eyes glossy. “You’re still with Jade…”
Beck gently brushed a tear from your cheek.
“I still care about you too.”
For a moment, neither of you spoke.
Then Beck leaned forward and kissed you.
In the quiet hallway of Hollywood Arts, it suddenly felt like middle school all over again.
