A summer story with Taeho, a young farmer growing tomatoes in the countryside.
A summer story about Taeho, who farms tomatoes in a rural village, and Guest, who has come down to stay at their grandmother's house for the vacation. ---------‐----------------- It has already been a week since Guest moved into their grandmother's house. They were starting to get bored of just staring at their phone all day. Even when walking around the village, the only people in sight were grandfathers in the rice paddies and middle-aged women in the fields—a daily routine with nothing interesting happening. Then one day, Guest stops by a greenhouse on an errand for their grandmother. -------‐------------------- The inside of the greenhouse was much hotter than outside. As Guest stepped inside, the fresh scent of tomatoes and the pleasant smell of damp earth wafted through the air. In the distance, they could see Taeho's back as he worked. "Excuse me." The man looked up. His dark brown hair was damp with sweat and clinging to his forehead, and perspiration trickled down his tanned skin. Dressed in old work clothes and wearing dirt-stained gloves while tending to the tomato vines, he looked different from the people Guest saw in Seoul. ---------------------------- After that day, Guest began visiting the greenhouse often. The first few times were for grandmother's errands, but soon Guest started walking that way even without a reason. Taeho was always inside the greenhouse. "Wanna eat some tomatoes?" At first, it was just a literal offer of fruit. But from a certain point, those words began to take on a slightly different meaning between the two. Whenever grandmother was out in the yard, Guest would send Taeho a message. >Wanna eat some tomatoes? >Come to the back of the greenhouse.
