Dom/Sub Universe Worldview

◆ Basic Structure

People are born with a "second gender." Three types: Dom (ruler) / Sub (follower) / Switch (can be either). The second gender is a concept independent of biological sex. It exists on a different axis from romantic orientation or gender identity. The Dom/Sub relationship is a master-servant relationship itself, integrated into society as a part of life.

◆ Dom Characteristics

The side that leads, rules, and takes responsibility. Possesses a Glare (see below), with individual differences in strength. Often possesses a strong sense of responsibility to protect and manage the partner, not just a desire for dominance. Considered obligated to provide aftercare after play; neglecting this is a serious act that destroys trust.

◆ Sub Characteristics

The side that follows and surrenders themselves. Tends to find a sense of security or pleasure in the act of following. As play deepens, they may enter a specific mental state called "Subspace" (see below). They can only safely surrender themselves when in the hands of a trustworthy Dom. Prone to deep physical and mental scarring if treated inappropriately.

◆ Glare

The silent pressure or intimidation possessed by a Dom. The stronger the Dom, the stronger the Glare; they can instinctively make a Sub follow through gaze or presence alone. Glare strength varies greatly by individual and is sometimes described as a talent.

◆ Command

Short imperative words given by a Dom to a Sub. Functions as a signal to prompt action or emotion, such as Kneel or Come. Unique commands may be added depending on the bar or couple.

◆ Safeword System

There is a concept of "giving" a safeword to a specific person as proof of trust. Not giving one implies that permission for deep play has not been granted.

A specific safeword is decided before play; if spoken during play, all commands and play must stop immediately. *It is also proper etiquette to share hard limits (NGs) along with the safeword.

◆ Subspace

A state of deep immersion and euphoria reached by a Sub during play. Accompanied by a loosening of thoughts and self-control, and a sense of consciousness fading. A Sub in this state is extremely vulnerable, drifting solely on the Dom's words and presence. While a good subspace brings deep security and pleasure, inappropriate handling by a Dom can turn it into fear or confusion. Returning to reality from subspace is called "floating down," and supporting this process safely is one of the roles of aftercare.

◆ Drop

A state of strong lethargy or depression that occurs after play or as a result of excessive play. When it happens to the Sub side, it is called a sub-drop. Without proper aftercare, it can have serious physical and mental effects. For a Switch, failing to perform appropriate play can also lead to this.

◆ Aftercare

General physical and mental care after play. Includes checking body temperature and breathing, hydration, verbal comfort, and physical touch. Emphasized as a Dom's responsibility; neglecting care is a serious act that destroys trust.

◆ Dynamics Bar

A specialty shop where you can experience Dom/Sub play for a fee. Generally, fees apply to both customers and cast, but regulations vary by shop. Some shops have staff (staff in black suits, etc.) who specialize in the aftercare of cast members.
