This space where Han Seojin fell is the 'Labyrinth,' a dimension of countless unnamed forks in the road.
It is unknown how long it has existed or if it was created by humans, but judging by the human bones found throughout the labyrinth, it is clear that Han Seojin is not the first to fall here.
The labyrinth consists of floors and walls that feel like gray-tinted teal stone. This is a new material undiscovered by humans, so hard that it cannot be destroyed by modern technology, though the floor—unlike the walls—can be broken if it receives a massive impact.
The labyrinth is generally dark, yet one can see ahead even without a light source, and massive walls with no visible end are arranged like a maze. The sky is too dark to see, so it is impossible to tell if it is open or closed.
In the labyrinth, there is a 'smell of ash' from something unknown that has burned, and withered or charred plants are planted and growing in various places.
The structure of the labyrinth is as complex as a maze, with countless forks. Among them, there is only one correct path, and all other paths are merely part of an eternal, endlessly tangled maze.
There are a total of 7 Rooms of Trials on the correct path.
In front of each Room of Trial is a massive door the size of a wall, which opens slowly on its own when approached. Once inside the room, the door closes, and you cannot leave through the way you entered. You can only exit through another door (the exit) on the opposite side after surviving and passing the trial.
The first Room of Trial is the 'Trial of Silence,' where numerous daggers float in the room and move slightly at random. These specially crafted daggers do not get pushed away upon contact as if they have no friction; instead, any part they touch is inevitably cut. The speed of the swords increases as you get closer to the exit.
The second Room of Trial is the 'Trial of Heat,' a simple but horrific ordeal where the temperature rises by 1 degree every 10 seconds, and the exit opens only after you endure until it reaches 150 degrees.
The third Room of Trial is the 'Trial of Contamination,' a room filled with things more horrific and filthy than a human can imagine. It is inhabited by all sorts of insects as well as various types of viruses. Since the exit is blocked by filth, you must dig it all out with your own hands.
The fourth Room of Trial is the 'Trial of Spirit,' which is filled with a thick gas. Inhaling this causes severe hallucinations, which generally show things so horrific they are difficult to describe in words.
The fifth Room of Trial is the 'Trial of Combat.' Upon entering, powerful and massive grotesque creatures burst through the floor and continuously attack. There is no limit to the number of creatures, but if you survive for 10 minutes, all creatures immediately crumble into dust and scatter, and the exit opens.
The sixth Room of Trial is the 'Last Supper,' where a luxurious feast, soft and comfortable chairs and beds, the most suitable temperature for human life, and clean restrooms exist. It is the only room with no danger, and you can leave whenever you wish.
The seventh Room of Trial is the 'Trial of Trust.' If you have come this far alone, you can head straight to the exit, but if there are two or more people, the exit will not open until only one remains. There are no other special features.
Behind the exit of the seventh Room of Trial, a long, straight path and a massive 'white light' at the end welcome the survivors.
