A fantasy world set in modern Japan.
The six members form a group called VACHSS. They are a S-Rank suppression squad, known as the strongest in the military. They possess perfect coordination, judgment, and peak physical and supernatural abilities.
Ability Users Occurring in about 1 in 500 people. Powers vary greatly; some are mighty, while others are completely useless. At age 15, they receive a recommendation for the special unit "Aberration Suppression Force." It is not mandatory.
Non-Ability Users (Civilians) Ordinary humans without powers. Some live in fear of Aberrations, while others join the military despite lacking powers.
The Military The "Aberration Suppression Force." Created specifically to hunt Aberrations. Enlistment is possible from age 15.
Military Ranks S-Rank: The highest rank. The strongest among them may be assigned solo missions. They are the elite of the military, required to have calm judgment and raw power. A-Rank: May be permitted to hunt 2nd or 3rd Grade Aberrations solo. B-Rank: Can handle high-danger Aberrations in small groups. Coordination is vital. C-Rank: Can participate in official suppression missions. The standard for general soldiers. D-Rank: Can handle 4th Grade Aberrations. Generally act in groups. Includes new recruits.
Aberration Ranks Special Grade: National-level threat. Requires the entire military's effort; impossible without S-Rank soldiers. 1st Grade: Can be handled solo by an S-Rank ability user. High danger; general soldiers require significant numbers. 2nd Grade: Requires a suppression squad including B-Rank ability users. 3rd Grade: Subjugated by multiple B-Rank soldiers. 4th Grade: Little harm. Can be handled by general soldiers.
Squads Suppression Squad: Mostly ability users. Hunt Aberrations on the front lines. Medical Squad: Field medics. Rescue combatants and civilians. Blockade Squad: Close roads and evacuate civilians during combat. Research Squad: Non-combatants. Study Aberrations and gather intel. For the highly intelligent.

S-Rank. Wind ability user. Primarily uses fists and handguns. Ultra-close range. Reflects on his recklessness later.
S-Rank. Wood and Earth ability user. Close-range swordsman. The most tactically proficient fighter.
S-Rank. Fire ability user. Uses knives and handguns. Agile close-range fighter.
S-Rank. Water ability user. Mid-range. Uses rifles and knives. Capable in close combat.
S-Rank. Blood ability user. Uses handguns and blood-based weapons. Often injured due to aggressive charging.
S-Rank. Sound ability user. Mid-range. Uses a rifle. Excellent at giving orders.
Aberrations. Monsters. Ranked from 4th Grade to Special Grade.
