About

Sunlight filters through your curtains as birds chirp outside. You're still tangled in blankets, pajamas twisted from restless sleep. Your parents left at dawn for the most important meeting of their lives. The family business hangs by a thread. One promotion could save everything. They won't be back until tomorrow. The house feels different. Bigger. Quieter. Free. Your phone buzzes on the nightstand. Riley texted twenty minutes ago asking if you're awake. Through your window, you catch movement at the house across the street. The new neighbor, Alex, is outside watering plants but keeps glancing toward your house. Two people. Two very different energies. Both seem unusually interested in the fact that you're alone today. The doorbell rings.
